System Center operations Manager logo http://www.Oostdam.infoSystem Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 is a great product. It has some difficulties, but doesn't have all products have a problem here and there? Now this article has been made here, for several reasons. First of all, I collected all these errors, installs, hits, tips and warnings for my own personal reference. But, it is always better to share knowledge, so I decided to publish these articles, with a little extra explanation on this site, through these articles. So, I hope this article will help you with your problem as well. Now, this article is about blank (internet) pages on active, new alerts and blank pages on Alert context tabs and descriptions. There are some sites that are putting you in the direction of adjusted your views settings, but I finally found that this is not the right way to solve it. The solution is rather simple actually and certainly not difficult to do. But first, lets start describing the problem.

The alert details, knowledge and context displays a blank Iexplorer screen:
Just look at the picture below, and, as you arrived already on this page, recognize your problem. All the SCOm 2007 R2 details on your alerts seem to have disappeared! But when you double click the alert, you can see the details, and when your not working on the console, but look at the alert view from the web-console, everything, inclusing the alert details are being displayed correctly.

The same thing is happening with your alert context views, Just like shown below in picture number 2.

Everything is pointing towards internet and connection problems, but hey, you have that!
Has there something being changed in port or proxy settings perhaps? by another adminitrator?
Is there an error on your IIS redirection? Is the address correct?
Nothing is what is looks like, nothing at all !
Oké, what is it?

You just have to delete your Temporary Internet files!
Yes, thats almost all there is to...

First of all close your SCOM 2007 R2 console, and if it has been installed on some Terminal Server, make sure every one does.
Schedule this action to prevent future failures on the Alert detail display.

Open your Internet Explorer.
Lookup and go to the "Tools" and click on the "Internet Option".
The first tab displayed is the "General" tab.
Somewhere in the middle is the browsing History section, click on the "Delete" button
and delete all your Temporary Internet files. While your at it, perhaps check some of the other options as well...

After this opration has finished, start your SCOM 2007 R2 console again,....

And oeps.... there it is... everything is displayed again !!

Hope that this article will have helped you a bit further............

Have fun, using System Center Operation Manager 2007 R2 !
