System Center operations Manager logo http://www.Oostdam.infoSystem Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 is a great product. It has some difficulties, but doesn't have any products have a problem here and there? Now this article has been made here, for several reasons. First of all, I collected all these errors and warnings for my own personal reference. But, it is always better to share knowledge, so I decided to publish these articles, with a little extra explanation on this site, through these articles. So, I hope this article will help you with your problem as well.

So enjoy! (if you did not allready knew this...)

Reasons for SCOM Warning 25362:

SCOM (System Center Operations Manager) Warning 25362Here on the right, you can see an example of the System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 warning number 25362, which can uccor when you manually install an agent on a server, or can get back, trying to install the agent from your remote Management Server.

It says clearly that setup will proceed, but that the HealthService service has failed to start. You can examine the eventlog ofcourse, but you will not find a direct clue, to solve this issue.

What happened an how can you resolve it?
There are actually several reasons that can create these errors. Let me explain some simple things, you have to check first.

  • Check if the partion you installed the client on is out of diskspace. The services will need some temporary diskspace to start up the services itself. The service will be installed, even in automatic mode, but cannot be started, due to a lack of resources, related to diskspace issue's.
  • Start up the services.msc, through the Run command, and find the service "System Center Management". It will be set on "Automaticly" but it is not started. Start it manually. and it wil register itself to the SCOM Management Server. You might have to approve it manually in the "Authoring/Pending Management" section afterwards.
  • Check on the server, or workstation, you installed the client on, the Operations Manager Event viewer. You will probaly see an error like an event ID 482 from the source "Health Service ESE Store" in the Operations Manager eventlogs.

Now, as this is an Operations Manager WARNING during installation, it will be easy to solve in most cases. Just clear up the disk space, or you will receive lots, and lots of 483 errors in your events.

Have fun, using System Center Operation Manager!
