The new Office 2016 Excel sheet options.

Oostdam.Info Microsoft Office 2016 logo collectionNow that the preview releases of Office 2016 has been released, it is time for some articles about the new Office 2016 functions and possibilities. Of course there is only a "preview" version available for the public, but until the date of release, lets call this product Office 2016. Personally I'm very happy with the developments in the Office suite. As an Office 365 user I see changes and improvements to the product every couple of months. In spite of the fact that Office 365 is very handy, there is also quit a demand for the offline version. These series of articles will help you get used to new functionalities and look and feels. Have fun reading them!

This article is about the changed sheet styles in Excel. Just like the rest of the restyling the sheet pages on the bottom have changed as well. These sheet tabs has not been changed for more than a decade, and it looks quit nice now I must admit. Lets be honest, it was pretty difficult for most users to change the tab colors and move or rename the sheets.

The option page you where used to on a right mouse-click on a sheet tab is definitively gone now and is replaced by the new, tablet device friendly option-bar. For this example I highlighted a part of the color tab as this is the biggest change in change in the sheet styles besides the bar. Sheet names are better readable also, now that the colors are no longer completely tab filling. That was sometimes not easy to read, especially on sheets from non-experienced users.

A nice improvement which will be familiar to you soon enough.

I hope this article was helpful for you, and enjoy working with the new Office Suite!

Tip: Create a mixed colored picture and add is as a special.
You get little striping's in the color and people will wander how you did that.
